HI_TACK BIO
Hi_Tack is: Koen Groeneveld (DJ/Producer) and Addy van der Zwan (Producer).
They’re based in Rotterdam, The Netherlands.
One of their most famous projects is Klubbheads.
In 1996 they entered the U.K. popcharts at #10 with “Klubbhopping”.
The follow-up singles “Discohopping” (1997) and “Kickin’ Hard (1998)
became again big international club-hits and reached also the U.K. Top 40.
Due to this success they produced more than 200(!) remixes for amongst
others: Reel To Real, Mory Kante, Josh Wink, Armand van Helden, and many
more.
In 1999 came their biggest success so far.
They produced the worldwide hit “The Launch” for DJ Jean.
That record topped at #2 in the U.K.Top 40 and even #1 in The Netherlands.
The Hi_Tack debut single “Say Say Say (Waiting 4 U)” peaked at
#4 in de UK Top 40 early 2006 and stayed for 4 (!) weeks in the
Top 10.
Shortly after that, the Hi_Tack remix of Beatfreakz’ “Somebody’s Watching Me”
Made it to #3 in the U.K. Top 40!
Successful remixes followed for the likes of a.o. Filterfunk “S.O.S. Message In
A Bottle”, Loleatta Holloway “Love Sensation”, Outwork “Elektro” and Marco
Demark’s “Tiny Dancer”.
Other projects produced by Hi_Tack are The Caramel Club, Untouchable 3 and
Johnny Crockett.
So called (unofficial) bootleg remixes by Hi_Tack for Gwen Stefani “Wind It Up”
and Rihanna’s “Don’t Stop The Music” burned down dancefloors big time!
The follow up to “Say Say Say (Waiting 4 U)”: “Let’s Dance”, a cover of David
Bowie’s 80’s monster, became another global charthit in 2007.
Their new single “Silence” will be released worldwide in spring 2008.
Since early 2006 Hi_Tack is traveling the world for DJ sets.
Russia, U.K., Latvia, France, Reunion Island, Germany, Belgium are just a few
of the countries where their infective tunes caused mayhem in clubs and on
festivals.
A Hi_Tack DJ set by DJ Koen can be best described as a dynamic combination
of mainstream house and uplifting electro tunes.
